OUR STORY

How Kradl came about

In seventh grade, I read Michael Braungard and William McDonough's book Cradle to Cradle. I soon found myself inspired to figure out a way to apply its principles of reduce-reuse-recycle.

I realized that there are lots of unused phones just sitting around in peoples' homes (including mine), creating massive amounts of e-waste. These are often perfectly good phones, but the owners just don't have the time to sell or properly dispose of them.

What if we could get people to donate their unused phones, sell them, and use the money to support important environmental causes? Even a just a handful of phones would be worth a ton. Not only could we reduce e-waste, we could also raise a lot of money for important causes.

And that's how Kradl was birthed. I'm really excited to see how much we can raise for high-impact charities, starting with National Resources Defense Council, Greenpeace, and #TeamTrees!

Thank you for reading and supporting Kradl.org!
